ARCHDALE, NC (June 3, 2008)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team competed at two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned events over the weekend and was trailing Steve Casebolt in the series national points standings heading into the weekend. On Friday night Earl and the team traveled to Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg Ohio for a $7,000 to win Lucas Oil Series event. Earl would start 9th in the feature event and would earn a solid top 5 finish with a 4th place run at Hilltop Speedway on Friday. Then on Saturday Earl and the team traveled to Florence Speedway in Union Kentucky for the "Ralph Latham Memorial Race" also sanctioned by Lucas Oil for a $10,000 feature event. Earl would start 8th in the 50-lap feature event and would advance into the top five by halfway of the race. Earl would battle among the top five positions throughout the second half of the feature and came home with another 4th place finish at Florence Speedway his second consecutive 4th place finish over the weekend. Earl regained the Lucas Oil Series national point's standings and now leads Steve Casebolt by 55 points after 17 events in 2008.

"We had a really good car at both races over the weekend. We'll take two top five finishes and the points lead again and look to get more wins on the Lucas Oil Series in the next series sanctioned events in two weeks. Now that we have the points lead again Randall, Keith and Matt are busy preparing our cars for the big events at Eldora this week. With Bobby racing on Wednesday in the Prelude and the Dream for us on Friday and Saturday, it's a short week for to get ready. But my crew is pumped up and looking to get Bobby a win in the Prelude and then we'll be trying to win that $100,000 on Saturday. It's going to be a fun week at Eldora and were looking forward to racing there again", stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville, Florida.
