ARCHDALE, NC (June 25, 2007)- Earl Pearson Jr. the 2005 and 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series defending national champion picked up his 3rd win on the touring series in 2007 Saturday night at Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, VA. By winning the series event Saturday Earl has moved into 1st place in the year long national points standings for the first time in 2007. Earl driving the Bobby Labonte Racing, LifeLong Locks, Mastersbilt Chassis, Larry Wallace Engines, Sunoco Race Fuels Dodge Charger immediately showed the fellow drivers that he would be the man to beat by setting fast time during qualifications at the beautiful Virginia Motor Speedway.

Earl would finish second in his heat race earning the 4th starting position for the 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Earl would power into third place on the initial start and would pass Jeremy Miller for second place by lap 6 and set his sights on Justin Ratliff the leader from the start. Earl, Ratliff and Miller would rage a three wide battle for the lead and had the fans on their feet as they changed positions back and forth for two laps before Pearson pulled into the lead for good on lap 13. Earl have to hold off Donnie Moran in the late stages of the feature and led the final 37 laps to win his 3rd touring series event in 2007.

"I have to thank my crew Jason, Matt and Keith for their hard work in preparing this new Mastersbilt Chassis. This car worked flawless for the first time hitting the track tonight. We've struggled a little lately but these guys kept working and never got down and here we are back in victory lane again. The track was awesome and you could really race all over it. This place is really nice and the staff treats everyone great and we always enjoy coming to Virginia", stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville, FL.

Earl and the team also competed on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series this past Friday night in Fayetteville NC finishing a strong 3rd place in the 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series paid tribute to Earl's former car owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm in front of their home track and a standing room only crowd. The series recognized the Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team for all their years fielding cars in the dirt late model racing industry and the numerous drivers that have driven for the Lamms. Carlton and Kemp Lamm were the Lucas Oil Series National Champion car owners in 2005 and 2006.

Earl and the Bobby Labonte Racing team will have a busy week next week starting Friday and Saturday competing in the WoO sanctioned $30,000 to win event at Lernerville Speedway in Lernerville, PA. Then on Sunday the team will travel to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH for a 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature event. On Monday July 2nd Earl will travel to Midway Speedway in Crooksville, OH for a UMP Summernationals 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Tuesday July 3rd Earl will be at Muskingum County Speedway for another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 50-lap $10,000 to win sanctioned event. Then the team will travel to Tazewell Speedway on Friday July 6th in Tazewell, TN for another 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Series sanctioned event. From there the team will travel to Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN on Saturday July 7th for a 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Series sanctioned event.
