ARCHDALE, NC (May 7, 2009)- Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team will travel to Wheatland MO. this weekend and compete in the SuperClean Diamond Nationals. This event is sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and pays $30,000 to the winner. It is also the final event on the "Sunoco Road to Wheatland" tour. Earl can earn an additional $2,000 from Sunoco by winning the Diamond Nationals as part of the Sunoco bonus money offered to any Sunoco Race Fuels driver that can win the Diamond Nationals and maintained perfect attendance leading upto the event.

Earl and the team was close to winning this event last year running second to Shannon Babb in the closing laps but suffered a mechanical failure that forced Earl from the event. Earl will be looking to win his second crown jewel event in 2009 after winning the World of Outlaws sanctioned Colossal 100 back in March. The Colossal 100 win was Earl's biggest prize money victory earning him $50,000. Other big career wins for Earl include the 2006 Hillbilly 100 that paid $25,000 and the 2006 World 100 that paid $39,000 for winning. earl and the team have posted three wins already in 2009, winning a UMP event during speedweeks at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida, The Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown speedway in Indiana and the Colossal 100 at Lowes Dirt Track in North Carolina.
