ARCHDALE, NC (April 4, 2007)- 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion and 2006 Indiana Ice Breaker defending Champion Earl Pearson Jr. and the Bobby Labonte Racing Team competed at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown IN this past weekend in the 2007 version of the Indiana Ice Breaker. The 75-lap $10,000 to win event was sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Earl would set the 6th fastest time in qualifying out of the 72 cars entered. Earl would finish 2nd in the sixth heat race to earn a 12th starting position for the feature event.

At the start of the feature Earl would advance a couple positions and run in the top ten the entire 75 laps. With the track locking down late in the race passing was difficult over the last half of the race and Earl would finish 9th in the final run down. "To finish 9th was a little disappointing after winning this event last year. The track kind of got one lane and hard to pass. I have to commend the track staff and the series staff for getting the race in after the rain we got in the morning and the forecast for rain all day. We gained some points and hopefully we can get a win at Tazwell in the next series race", stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Earl was also one of the special guest drivers for the "Ride of Your Life" this past weekend at Brownstown Speedway. Brownstown Speedway gave four lucky fans a chance to ride with their favorite driver in a two-seater super late model dirt car around the fast Brownstown Speedway during the 10th annual "Indiana Ice Breaker" event. The "Hurricane" gave a lucky lady from the state of Mississippi a ride with the three time national champion in a super late model that she won't soon forget.

Earl has one win on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and is currently tied for 7th place in the season long national point's standings. The team will take this Easter weekend off from racing and return to racing action on April 14th at the fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell Tennessee. The 75-lap $10,000 to win feature event will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
